Trolley Museum Celebrates 50 Years

Cheers for 50 Years! The National Capital Trolley Museum is celebrating their 50th anniversary in Northwest Branch Park with a very special event on Thursday, October 17. Highlights include trolley rides, museum exhibits, food and drinks, and a presentation by keynote speaker Mr. Paul J. Wiedefeld, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro/WMATA).

Since its opening day in 1969, more than one million passengers have traveled through the park on its antique trams and trolleys. Eighty-five thousand school children have learned about the impact of trolleys in community development of Montgomery County and the Washington DC metropolitan area.

This event is open to the public, and tickets can be purchased here. All are welcome to attend and celebrate!
