What's in the water? Look for crayfish, mayfly larvae, salamanders, and do some simple water quality tests in the Patuxent River. Closed-toe shoes or sturdy sandals that can get wet are recommended (no flip-flops, please). The activity will be cancelled if the water is high. Meet at the Nature Center.

For this special edition of "Skulls and Skins," the focus will be on a special creature: the bear. Learn the Bear Facts about Bears in Maryland and then learn about what bears eat. Act like a bear and gather "food" from the park. Meet at the Nature Shack by the Tire Playground.

Come to the park for a fun, 30-45 minute program for all ages. Meet a living snake or turtle and examine shells and skins from reptiles living in the park. Meet at the Nature Shack by the Tire Playground.

Autumn Pontoon Tour

Take a relaxing, 45-minute afternoon boat ride on the pontoon boat, "Blue Heron." Come see the beautiful shades of autumn as the leaves begin to change around Clopper Lake. There is a small charge per person in addition to park entrance fees; meet at the Boat Center.
