Come to the Nature Center and learn about the hunters of the night! We'll talk about how owls live and what makes owls special. We'll look at owl pellets, which is how naturalists learn what owls eat. And we'll have a pinecone owl craft for those who have time.

Pontoon Tours

Take a relaxing 45-minute boat ride on the pontoon boat “Blue Heron.” Learn about history of the area and search for that wildlife that call Clopper Lake home. Tours are at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – meet at the Boat House. There is a small fee in addition to the park entrance fee.

Stream Study

Patuxent River State Park 23222 Georgia Ave, Brookeville, MD

What's in the water? We'll look for crawfish, mayfly larvae, salamanders, and do some simple water quality tests in the Patuxent River at the Park. Close-toed shoes or sturdy sandals that can get wet are recommended (no flip-flops); may be canceled due to high water. Meet at the Nature Center.

Reptile Encounter
