Take on two of your New Year’s resolutions at once: spend more time outdoors exploring nature AND get more exercise by signing up for this winter hike. Members of the Audubon Naturalist Society will lead the hike upriver on the flat C&O Canal towpath from Pennyfield Lock near Potomac, MD to Violettes Lock—and back—for a round trip total of 5 miles. Hikers will search for over-wintering birds and other wildlife while practicing winter botany skills.

The cost for this expert-led hike is $34 for Audubon Naturalist Society members; $48 for nonmembers. Register online for this 3/4-day hike; time and meeting location to be announced.
