This NEW evening version of the Underground Railroad Experience guided hike lasts approximately 2.5 hours and is provided by “conductors” who lead groups along Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park’s wooded, natural surface trail. Hikers learn about various techniques that “freedom seekers” used to elude trackers, find food, and navigate their way North to freedom. This new guided hike takes place in the evening hours, to demonstrate how the lack of daylight impacted the journey of ‘freedom seekers’. This hike is recommended for participants 8 years if age and older. Hikes are available at 7:00pm on the third Saturday of the month between April and November. Participants should bring a flashlight and wear light colored or reflective clothing.
