Come for a bushwhacking, history-seeking hike to the final resting place of quarry workers who mined the sandstone used in the Smithsonian Castle. We will be crossing farm fields and woods. Dress for rough hiking with sturdy footwear that can get muddy – round trip hike is approximately 2 miles. Meeting at 16500 River Road, Poolesville. To park, please go past the “Road Closed” sign for approximately 1/4 mile; park on either side of River Road.
