Guided Archaeology Tour: Valley Mill Archaeology Tour
August 22 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Free
What began as a 3-acre land patent in 1720 eventually grew to a 114-acre community center for the farmers to grind corn, saw timber, visit the local blacksmith for a repair, and witness the power of the milling technology that earned Valley Mill its recognition as Maryland’s leading producer of corn meal in 1850. Visitors will see ruins of the mill, learn about the archaeological excavations, and enjoy a short hike along the stream. Free.
