Preservation Maryland Heritage Fund provides direct assistance for the protection of historical and cultural resources and promotes innovative demonstration projects that can be successfully replicated to meet Maryland's historic preservation needs. Grants range from $500 to $5000 and are reviewed and awarded by the Heritage Fund Selection Committee in three rounds each year. The Fund is intended to serve the needs of tangible cultural resources in Maryland. Historic sites, buildings, districts, objects, and archaeological resources are eligible for funding. Applications, available on Preservation Maryland's website, are due February 1.

The Maryland Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit organization that uses the humanities to stimulate and promote informed dialogue and civic engagement on critical issues, offers two types of grant funding. Major grants of up to $10,000 are awarded twice a year, with the next deadline for letters of intent due March 1. Opportunity grants of $1,200 are selected three times a year, with the next application deadline also on March 1.
